On Saturday November 6th 2004 the British Virgin Islands Football Association held it’s first Center of Excellence training session at the A.O. Shirley Recreation Ground in Road Town, Tortola.

The center of excellence is a program designed and targeted at young children ages 10-12 who show keen interest and talent in football. A total of 30 of the best students were chosen out of a pool of 250.

It is the aim of the Technical Director Mr. Ben Davies to develop the talent of the youngsters by providing them with a higher level of coaching than what they are normally used to in the after school Youth Development Program.

Training sessions for the Center of Excellence program are conducted once weekly on Saturdays for 2 hours from 9:30 am - 11:30 am and is scheduled to continue until June 25th 2005.

It is the hope of the Technical Director to use the students enrolled in the center of excellence program to form a British Virgin Islands Under 12 team and the National Youth Team.
